Radio minute: My farewell
June 17, 2026
This week, I announced that I will be stepping down as Member of Parliament for Yorkton–Melville as of August 31, 2026.
I am so thankful for our board and volunteers, past and present, that have served alongside me.
The depth of support I’ve received from the riding has been both sobering and affirming. Sobering, considering the challenges and hardships that you have often shared with me.
Affirming, because you do not give up, always holding on to hope that is rooted in common sense, knowledge, wisdom, and friendships that reflect values of faith, freedom, and family.
I am grateful to have served you alongside the Leader of His Majesty’s Loyal Opposition, the Hon. Pierre Poilievre. He is a servant leader with conviction and determination.
His character and resolve I have appreciated firsthand, and our country would do very well to choose him to be the next Prime Minister of Canada.
As for my professional, capable, and passionate staff – both past and present – on Parliament Hill and in the Constituency, I know that they have served you well because I simply could not do justice to my responsibilities without them.
Honoured and thankful.
