Radio minute: Save our Snowbirds

Canadians are proud of the Snowbirds because their entire team reflects the excellence, discipline, and the very best of Canada’s Airforce.

But the Carney Liberals are grounding them with no clear replacement plan, no firm timeline, and no accountability. After we exposed the truth, the Minister claimed Canadians will enjoy the Snowbirds for generations to come. Days later, he announced the exact opposite.

This is not a pause. It’s a cancellation of a proud Canadian symbol for potentially a decade or more. Canadians will now look to the skies at our own airshows and see more American jets than Canadian ones because the government failed to plan ahead.

At a time when our sovereignty is under pressure, Canada should be projecting strength and capability—not decline. Liberals spent $30 million upgrading the Tutors to keep them flying past 2030 and are now grounding them four years ahead of that timeline.

After a decade, this government has not procured fighter jets and is sending our pilots abroad to train because we can no longer do it properly at home. Conservatives are calling on the government to keep the Snowbirds flying while procuring replacement jets at speeds – dare I say – never seen before.
