YORKTON – The global economy is rapidly changing, and many Canadians are feeling the effects at home—including young people looking for jobs in a challenging job market. In response, the Government of Canada is focused on what it can control: helping to create summer jobs for young people across Canada to gain meaningful work experience that will set them on a path to a successful future.
Today, Cathay Wagantall, the Member of Parliament for Yorkton-Melville, announced the launch of the hiring period for CSJ 2026 with approximately 252 job opportunities available in Yorkton-Melville. From now until July 20, 2026, young job seekers between the ages of 15 and 30 can find local job opportunities on the Job Bank website and mobile app.
This summer, more work opportunities will be available compared to last year. Up to 100,000 CSJ openings will be available this summer for young people across the country. Youth can apply for summer jobs in fields that interest them, such as retail, office work, municipal employment, daycares and museums. Youth are encouraged to check Job Bank regularly for updates.
“Every summer, young people in our communities bring energy, creativity, and new ideas to local businesses and organizations,” said Wagantall. “With approximately 252 CSJ opportunities available in Yorkton-Melville, youth will be able to gain hands-on experience working with the employers who help make our region stronger.”
